I went from an 8th grade education to becoming a dean student in college. Another girl and I formed a non-profit for Foster children Leanonus.net but because of where i am now i can not be as involved as i once was. That breaks my heart because you meet theses kids who are confused and in need of things and once you go from helping to asking for help it takes it's toll on your self esteam and courage to keep going.
What do you do when you have given and given to those who need it the most and when it is your turn you find there is nobody their to lend you a hand. I am 32 with a 14 year old son. I have had to change a good paying night job for part time work because my son is at the age where it matters that i am there for him. I can not lose him to the evils that are out there in the world. By doing this i have lost my home. Sharing a room with him, trying to keep from drowning in my debt. My car is getting ready to be taken away. I have maxed out everything i own. I had to drop out of school (one year left for my Bachelor's in Human Services) and i am really scared now about what will happen to me and my son. With no one to turn too, this is a cry for help. It is shameful but i have given up on pride to make due what needs to be done. State offers assistance but it isn't enough. That system is designed to reduce you instead of lifting. Once you get locked in your doomed for ever.
Is there anyone with at least some "healthy" advice?
